My baby is 6!

Kyler turned 6 on January 29th. Yes - this is a very late tribute to my "baby". I suppose it's OK to be late since he is the 3rd kid and we all know that the last one gets neglected because all time and energy is focused on the other two...

Just realized I skipped 4 Years old - well, like I said he is the 3rd kid. I do have pictures of him during his 4th year, I just didn't post any here.

What do you know about Belted Galloway Cows?

Jake is in 5th grade and has had to do several presentations last year and this year. They do an excellent job getting the kids over any fear of public speaking. They have done debates, presented ideas of inventions, plays about history, and several other types of presentations. He has done 3 reading projects. (1st was a mystery book, 2nd was about immigration and he made a movie, 3rd was any topic)

Wish everyone lived closer... we're having a pizza party for Kyler's 6th Birthday. He is so excited to be 6. It's cute how big of a deal it is to be 6 and not 5 anymore.

Friday the 13th

Today is Friday the 13th. That might explain why work this week has been so crazy. It seems like everything was a high priority escalation the last few days. I'm so ready for a 3-day weekend. I need the time to catch up on all my work and home stuff I didn't get done this week.

Every Friday the 13th I remember a particular November Friday the 13th in Bandon. I remember a big storm coming in and the power went out. (I was little, so I don't remember all the details...) I don't remember ever being scared - it was more cool than anything.  I remember it was fun to cook on the wood stove, use candles and lanterns, play games, etc. I think that is the storm that loosened the deck and later fell off - with dad hanging on.

Now, about the kids...
Today was Spirit Day at school. The kids were suppose to wear their favorite school colors. The winning class got an extra 10 minutes at recess. Both Jake and Kyler's class won.

Kyler worked on making that poem for a couple days after the Pac 12 Championship game. He was pretty excited and told all our neighbors and friends. We had our typical crew over Monday to watch the Rose Bowl. We had lots of snacks, homemade pizza, cupcakes, and much more. The boys decorated while MaKenna and Sasha made cupcakes.
